Hi Melina,
I assume you are back from America. I hope all went well for you. I thought I would drop you a line and let you know how we are getting on with our Mishti. I certainly picked the most suitable name i.e. Bengali for "sweet" is mishti, and she certainly is the most sweetest thing around.
She loves making new friends and never hides when we have guests. She interacts and keeps everyone amused with her antics. She is the biggest clutz around, particularly when she starts tearing around the house, jumps onto the couch, from there onto her scratching post with has a couple of platforms and promptly fall off!! When she runs around the house she sounds like an elephant. With the noise coming, it is a surprise to see such a small, cute thing arrive. She keeps us laughing and we just love her to bits.
She has also trained us perfectly. She sleeps with us in bed, usually on top of the quilt, but moves in underneath when she cools down. Because I get up at 7 to get ready for work, put out her wet food and refill her water bowl, she has become my alarm clock. She starts stirring just before 7, but does not go out of her way to wake us up. So she lies there giving herself a clean, and if we move she then gives the quietest little meow, and from there it escalates. If it is a weekend, I get up, put out her food, do everything that needs to be done, and stagger back to bed. She has a feed, goes to her litter box, and then comes back to bed, and actually lets me sleep in, unless ... she hates a dirty litter box, so if she has done a "poo" she will let me know, so I have to go in and clean it up.
I would have done it anyway, but she feels she needs to supervise. It gets cleaned and then she is happy. As I am the one that cleans her litter, I suspect she hangs on until I am home. She doesn't do any big jobs whilst I am at work, even though Richard is home most of the time, but once I am in the door, a few minutes later there is commotion in the litter box. She buries it as if she is digging to China. That is my signal to go clean up.
She does so many funny things, and even started playing fetch with us.
We didn't start it off, she just dropped one of her favorite fluffy toys at my feet, so I picked it up and threw it. She chased after it and brought it back, and dropped it at my feet. This can go on for about 5-10 minutes and then she just ignores it. If I am in the kitchen and she wants to play fetch, she brings the toy, puts it at my feet, then sits on my foot so I have to look down, and then fetch is on.
I could just keep writing, and writing, about all the things she does.
She goes outside on the leash, and Richard put her on a longer rope connected to a tent peg in the middle of the lawn, and then works in the shed and she happily prowls around sniffing plants, rolling in the grass and being perfect!! She thinks she can catch the magpies that sit in the tree telling her off, and the growl that comes out of her is hysterical. But I will have to stop or this will become a major epic!!!
I have attached some pictures, and will see how much she hates sitting in our laps!!
All the best and a huge thank you for such a beautiful and loving girl.
Lucy
Hi Melina,
We had a name picked out last week- Kovu- but needed to see him first to see if it suited him. And yep it sure did.
Well the little man arrived home safely and he settled in for his first night perfect. The other cats had a little bit of attitude to start with but Kovu just gave it back :-)
The older ones are starting to come around now.
He is perfect and just what we wanted.. Far out he is a noisy eater.. hehehehe And he is also twice as playful as the other kittens we have had in the past. Its great :-)
Never a dull moment at home now...
Ill send you some more photos once he gets settled in a bit more and you can see how he is doing.
Thanks once again
Kristy
Hi Melina,
We thought we'd drop you a few lines to let you know how Ayla our little girl is going and send you some pictures so you can see how she's growing up.
She is absolutely beautiful and has a very cheeky nature! She is quite the entertainer and makes us laugh all the time! One of our favourite times with her is in the morning - she sleeps on our bed with us but climbs inside when it's cold and just before we have to get up she gives us the loveliest cuddles and purrs...It does make it very hard to get up sometimes!!!!
She follows us everywhere, and waits in the bathroom whilst we shower - once she even ventured into the shower of her own accord, albeit very briefly!!
Ayla is absolutely fascinated by ice cubes in drinks and will at her paw at them, this can be a bit messy at times when the glass tips over - but Ayla loves that and will play with the ice cube until it melts! She has also learnt to fetch all by herself and will bring back her toy or hairband until she gets bored and is onto the next thing. She is also very keen on running taps and will watch and play with the water!
We hope you like the photos...these were taken earlier this month.
We just love our little Ayla and thank you for breeding such a special girl.
Cheers
Maria & Marcus
